Terms of Use
When you contribute a photo to a Timepin, here are the most important things to know.
Your photo and how we use it
- Your photo becomes part of a public timeline of a fixed location.
- Your photo is published anonymously β never linked to your name or email address.
- The licence is CC BY-NC 4.0: others may view, share and adapt your photo, provided they credit the source and do not use it commercially.
- The initiator of the Timepin may also use your photo for communications relating to the project.
- You remain the owner of your photo at all times β but permission for publication is irrevocable. This is necessary for the continuity of the timeline.
Your rights
- You can contribute completely anonymously β you do not need to leave any personal information.
- In the webapp you give consent via the required consent checkbox. There is no opt-out afterwards β the licence is immediately irrevocable.
- With the mail fallback (sending a photo by email) you receive a confirmation email. Within 7 days you can request removal of your photo via [email protected]. After that the licence is irrevocable. Your email address is then automatically deleted.
Moderation
- Webapp contributions are in principle immediately visible if the location check succeeded. Mail contributions are reviewed first.
- We moderate on quality and suitability for the timeline β not on content or opinion.
- We may technically adjust images (crop, straighten) for consistent presentation.
- Photos that do not belong to the Timepin, are offensive or violate privacy may be removed.
- You can report issues via [email protected], stating the project and the date of the photo.
